Translink Travel Challenge 29 April 2019

Eco Schools Are Celebrating 10 years of the Translink Travel Challenge

Translink and Eco–Schools are celebrating 10 years of joining forces to deliver Travel Challenge across Northern Ireland.

The Travel Challenge promotes walking, cycling, bus and train travel for the school run instead of car use. Since its launch, over 105,000 sustainable journeys have been made by pupils choosing more active travel modes in an effort to cut car congestion at the school gates, protect the environment and boost their health and wellbeing.

The initiative incorporates curriculum–linked classroom resources and encourages schools to develop sustainable travel plans for at least 2 weeks as a way to support their Eco–Schools awards. Read More…

Closing date for entries to the challenge is the 21st May so schools must start their challenge by May 7th at the latest. To register to visit the Eco–Schools School Zone or contact Francesca.
