Sensing The World 1 October 2018

Little Hedgehog and the Big Outside

1hour Session £60 (additional sessions add £20 per hour)

Discover the big outside with Little Hedgehog and the RSPB’s “Sensing the World” programme. Sniff the earth, listen to chattering birds, touch the bumpy bark of an ancient tree and look up at the big, wide sky. Collect wonderful natural treasures, a shiny conker, a pretty flower, crackly leaves, some floaty feathers. Make a smelly nature perfume. Meet little magical creatures all around, under leaves and logs, look closely and see how they try to hide.

These activities and more are introduced to young children through the beautifully illustrated story of “Little Hedgehog and the Big Outside”. RSPB educators bring the story to life as they lead the children outdoors on their own adventure encouraging them to use their senses to learn about the colours and textures of nature. This RSPB outdoor learning programme provides stimulating opportunities for young children to develop their language of description and comparison and inspire their imagination.
