NI’s First EcoCampus 26 September 2018

Northern Ireland signs up its first EcoCampus

There was much excitement in Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful in June when we registered Stranmillis.

University College as our first EcoCampus. We are really looking forward to working with the team there as they work to improve their environmental impact and develop their grounds to facilitate Outdoor Learning for schools and their own teacher–training programme. They will also be looking at the themes of Transport and Waste.

EcoCampus is an international Foundation for Environmental Education programme which grew from the Eco–Schools programme into third level education. It follows a similar 7 step process as staff and students work together on environmental projects to achieve Green Flag status.
